What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect
When you join the waitlist: your name, business name, type of business, area, WhatsApp number and, if you give it, your email address.
When you contact us: your name, email, phone number if you give it, and your message.
When your shop is live: the details you add to your shop, and the details your customers give when they order or book, such as their name, phone number and delivery address.
Why we use it
- To contact you about the waitlist and setting up your shop.
- To reply to your messages.
- To run your shop: showing your products and services, and passing orders and bookings to you.
- To keep Kibanda secure and to improve it.
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website, such as which pages are visited and how many people join the waitlist. It uses cookies and collects information like your device type, browser and approximate location (city or country). It doesn’t tell us who you are, and we don’t send it your name, phone number or email.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on.
Who we share it with
We only share information with services that help us run Kibanda, and only what they need:
- Web3Forms, which delivers waitlist and contact form entries to our email.
- Google Analytics, which measures how the website is used (see above).
- Once shops are live: licensed payment partners to process payments, and messaging providers to send WhatsApp messages and SMS such as booking reminders.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details until your shop is set up or you ask us to remove them. We keep shop and order records for as long as your shop is active, and longer only where the law requires it, for example for tax records.
Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email support@kibanda.shop and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, where we can, let you know.
